Disaster As Orphanage Building Is Destroyed By Fire – Update December 2020
Fortunately all our children, young people and staff are safe!
We are so sad to report that on 29th November the main dormitory building and the kitchen/dining room and storeroom, were all significantly damaged by fire. Fortunately all our children, young people and staff are safe!
We cannot express how utterly devastated we are to report this news after all our hard work in developing the site.
The children and staff are currently in temporary accommodation in Bungoma county. We have supplied financial help to ensure that they have all the basic things they need and a food supply. The Trustees are now reviewing options, and the temporary accommodation means that we can take our time to do this. We are also expecting the children to return to school on 4th January, so we shall be providing what is needed to facilitate their return. It will be imperative to them as they have been out of school since March apart from a short period in October.
Please pray for all our children/young people and staff as they recover from this very frightening situation.
